Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Principal Data Governance Analyst with 6-8 years of experience in data governance, data quality, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Python / R and SQL, and a proven track record of implementing data governance frameworks, improving data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.

Lead data quality initiatives including profiling, cleansing, validation, and monitoring of enterprise data assets.

Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, and metadata management practices.

Develop and maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage documentation.

Use Python / R and SQL to perform data analysis, automate data quality checks, and generate insights.

Identify and resolve data issues, ensuring alignment with business rules and regulatory requirements.

Support compliance with data privacy and protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Contribute to the selection and implementation of data governance and data quality tools.

Provide training and support to data stewards and business users on governance best practices.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.

6-8 years of experience in data governance, data quality, and data analysis roles.

Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation, automation, and reporting.

Advanced SQL skills for querying, profiling, and transforming data.

Hands-on experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.

Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills :

Certification in Data Governance or Data Management (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).

Experience in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or telecom.

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Knowledge of data architecture and data modeling principles.
