Senior Consultant (Transaction Tax)

Role Overview

BTG Advaya's tax practice is looking to hire a Senior Consultant in Mumbai with demonstrated expertise in transactional tax matters . The role will focus on evaluating and structuring tax implications for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity / VC investments, and complex business restructurings. The candidate will play a key role in guiding clients through deal structuring, conducting tax due diligence, and advising on cross-border transactions, while also ensuring compliance and efficiency in tax strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Transactional Tax Advisory

• Structure and advise on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including share purchases, asset sales, slump sales, mergers, and demergers.
• Provide tax-efficient solutions for buy-side and sell-side deals, private equity / venture capital investments, and group reorganisations.
• Advise on inbound and outbound investments, with a focus on treaty benefits, withholding tax, and permanent establishment risks.
• Evaluate the tax impact of financing arrangements, shareholder agreements, earn-outs, and exit strategies.
