As a Mechanical Design Engineer at 10xConstruction.ai, you will play an essential role in the development of our mobile manipulator platform. Working closely with the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet the demands of the construction environment. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of prototyping techniques and contribute to the creation of cutting-edge robotics technology.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop mechanical components and sub-systems for the mobile manipulator platform, including structural elements, mechanisms, and interfaces for power tools
- Create detailed CAD models and drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards
- Conduct simulations and analysis to evaluate the performance and reliability of designs
- Contribute to the selection of materials and manufacturing processes
- Assemble and test prototypes, identifying and resolving any design issues
- Collaborate with the controls engineering team to integrate mechanical systems with robotic control systems
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of design documentation
- Work with the software team to generate accurate URDF files for simulation and analysis
- Contribute to the prototyping process, working with aluminum extrusions, 3D printing, and laser cutting
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of the hardware lab
Qualifications and Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field2+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with experience in robotics or automationProficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.) and GD&TStrong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, and materials scienceHands-on experience with prototyping and fabrication techniquesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentWhy Join Us :
