of the EPC MNC Company into Oil & Gas & Petrochemical Industry

Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering- Mechanical

Experience : Significant experience of 18+ yrs in contract management, particularly

with high-value EPC projects in the oil and gas or energy sectors.

A Contracts Manager oversees the entire contract lifecycle, focusing on compliance,

risk mitigation, and commercial viability to protect project margins and company

interests.

Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts; managing

claims, delays, and variations; ensuring adherence to terms; and collaborating with

legal, finance, and project teams to resolve disputes. Qualifications typically include

a bachelor's degree in engineering or business, strong knowledge of contract law and

EPC principles,

Key Responsibilities

 Contract Lifecycle Management : Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of contracts, from

pre-award to post-award, including drafting, review, negotiation, and execution.

 Risk & Compliance : Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring

compliance with all contract terms, company policies, and relevant regulations.

 Commercial Management : Track and monitor contractual performance,

deliverables, and finances to protect and enhance project margins.

 Change & Claims Management : Manage contract variations, claims (time, cost),

delays, and defects, working with project teams to resolve issues.

 Stakeholder Coordination : Act as a liaison between project teams, legal counsel,

finance, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth contract execution.

 Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate contract records, prepare reports

on contract status and performance for senior management, and document key

decisions and transactions.

 Dispute Resolution : Collaborate with the legal team and project management

to resolve complex commercial conflicts and assist in arbitration

proceedings.

 Contract Expertise : Strong understanding of contract law,

construction / commercial contracts,

 Commercial Acumen : Commercial astuteness and the ability to balance contractual

compliance with commercial practicality and risk management.

 Negotiation & Communication : Excellent negotiation, communication (verbal and

written), and interpersonal skills.

 Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex

contract-related issues.

 Technical Understanding : Knowledge of project management methodologies and

tools, along with the technical and commercial aspects of oil & gas projects.
