QA Lead (Electronics & Embedded Systems)
About the Role We are seeking a QA Lead to drive the quality assurance process for our hardware and embedded products.
The QA Lead will be responsible for establishing robust test plans, ensuring thorough validaton of electronics and firmware, and sending up a scalable testng infrastructure.
This role requires a strong background in electronics and embedded systems, combined with leadership skills to plan, execute, and manage end-to-end QA actvites.
Key Responsibilites :
QA Strategy & Planning :
- Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and valid on procedures aligned with product requirements.
- Define QA processes, methodologies, and best practces for embedded hardware and firmware testng.
- Establish quality metrics and reportng mechanisms to ensure contnuous improvement.
Test Executon & Infrastructure :
Lead setup and management of testng infrastructure including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), programmable loads, current measurement instruments, power supplies etc.Define and Conduct functonal, regression, stress, and reliability testng on hardware and firmware.Drive automation of test processes wherever possible.Collaboraton & Leadership :
Work closely with hardware, firmware, and product engineering teams to understand design specificatons and translate them into test requirementsLead and mentor QA engineers in test executon, troubleshootng, and documenta?on.Act as the quality advocate ensuring products meet reliability and performance standards before release.Problem Solving & Reportng :
Analyze test results, identfy root causes of failures, and collaborate with design teams to resolve issues.Prepare QA reports and provide clear feedback to stakeholders.Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external certficatons (if Skills :Strong knowledge of electronics testng tools : oscilloscopes, DMMs, power analyzers, electronic loads, etc.Familiarity with firmware and hardware design principles (MCUs, sensors, communicaton protocols like UART, I2C, SPI, MQTT).Experience in test case creaton, executon, and defect tracking.Ability to set up and maintain test infrastructure for embedded hardware validaton.Hands-on knowledge of debugging embedded systems using tools like logic analyzers, JTAG / SWD debuggers, tracing tools or protocol analyzers.Exposure to test automaton for hardware / firmware validaton (Python / Embedded test frameworks mandatory).Skills :
Strong analytcal and problem-solving skills.Excellent documentaton and reportng abilitesLeadership and team management experience, mentoring junior QA engineers.Effectve communicaton and collaboraton across cross-functonal teams.Experience :
3+ years of QA experience in electronics / embedded systems(ref : hirist.tech)
