About the Role :
We are seeking a seasoned Guidewire QA Architect to lead, design, and execute quality assurance strategies for enterprise-scale insurance technology programs. This role requires a deep understanding of Guidewire applications, automation frameworks, and Property & Casualty insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in test architecture, automation, integration testing, and QA leadership for large-scale Agile delivery programs in a multi-vendor environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Test Strategy & Architecture :
- Define and own the end-to-end QA strategy for Guidewire implementation and upgrade projects, ensuring optimal test coverage across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Establish automation testing frameworks tailored for Guidewire PC, BC, and Digital solutions, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Design data-driven, modular, and reusable test automation components for both UI and API layers.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :
Work closely with clients, application managers, business analysts, and developers to validate requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure quality objectives are met.Facilitate defect triage sessions, manage defect lifecycle, and provide actionable quality metrics to stakeholders.Act as the QA point-of-contact in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.Execution & Delivery :
Perform manual, automated, and integration testing for complex enterprise workflows, including internal and external system interfaces.Validate and test integration points with downstream and upstream applications, databases, and external APIs.Oversee test planning, execution, and reporting for all phases SIT, UAT, Regression, and Production Warranty.Drive performance and load testing to validate system scalability and responsiveness.Leadership & Mentoring :
Lead and mentor QA teams, fostering best practices in automation, defect prevention, and continuous integration testing.Build testing capability frameworks for Guidewire-specific skill development across the QA team.Required Skills & Experience :
Technical Expertise :
Proven experience testing Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and Digital applications (latest releases preferred).Strong automation testing skills using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, or Ruby frameworks.Proficiency in API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI) and validating JSON / XML payloads.Experience with CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) for automated test execution.Hands-on with SQL and database validation for transactional and integration testing.Familiarity with P&C insurance products (Personal and Commercial lines).Methodologies & Processes :
Strong grasp of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and DevOps-aligned QA practices.Expertise in risk-based testing, requirements traceability, and defect management.Experience in multi-vendor program environments for large-scale enterprise solutions.Soft Skills :
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to articulate test strategies, risks, and progress.Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.Preferred Qualifications :
Quality Assurance certifications (ISTQB Advanced Level, Certified Agile Tester, or equivalent).Guidewire certifications in PolicyCenter / BillingCenter.Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).Exposure to cloud-hosted Guidewire implementations (AWS, Azure).(ref : hirist.tech)
