Job Title : Mainframe Developer + DB2

Experience Required : 6+ Years

Location :

Primary : Chennai / Hyderabad,
Secondary : Type : Full-Time

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong DB2 expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting mainframe applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.

Write complex DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned programs.

Analyze business requirements, prepare technical designs, and implement solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in batch and online processing systems.

Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.

Provide L2 / L3 support for critical production incidents and perform root cause analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for application migration, modernization, and DB2 upgrades.

Prepare technical documentation, test plans, and deployment checklists.

Ensure adherence to coding standards, performance optimization, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience :

6+ years of experience in Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS).

Strong experience in DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, performance tuning.

Knowledge of file handling, utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, etc.).

Hands-on experience with End-to-End SDLC analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Experience in production support (incident, problem, and change management).

Good understanding of batch scheduling tools (CA-7, Control-M, or equivalent).

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Good to Have :

Exposure to Agile methodologies.

Knowledge of Rexx, IMS DB / DC, or MQ.

Experience in modernization / migration projects (Mainframe to Cloud or distributed systems).

Familiarity with DevOps practices (Git, Jenkins, JIRA).
