Role Purpose
The Test Lead & Release Manager will play a dual role in ensuring digital platform quality
and controlled release management across enterprise ecosystem.
This role combines testing leadership — to ensure product readiness, reliability, and
integration quality — with release governance — to coordinate, validate, and manage
production rollouts across multiple business systems.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
A. Test Strategy & Quality Assurance
- Define and maintain a unified test strategy and governance framework across all GMMCO
digital products.
Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria for functional, integration,and regression testing.
Establish a centralized test repository with traceability to business requirements and UAToutcomes.
Lead manual and automated testing efforts to ensure high-quality, defect-free productreleases.
Implement automation frameworks to increase regression coverage and shorten releasecycles.
B. Release Planning & Coordination
Own the end-to-end release calendar across all internal and customer-facing platforms.Coordinate release readiness reviews with Digital, IT, and business teams.Manage release environments, ensuring proper version control, configurationmanagement, and rollback planning.
Ensure test sign-offs, change documentation, and release approvals are completed as pergovernance standards.
Maintain visibility of all planned releases, hotfixes, and maintenance windows.C. Stakeholder Management
Serve as the single point of contact for release scheduling, readiness, and issue escalation.Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Platform Ownersto align test and release plans.
Partner with Deloitte and other system integrators to ensure controlled deploymentsaligned with program timelines.
Communicate release scope, impact, and dependencies clearly to leadership and businessusers.
D. Automation, Tools & Reporting
Lead the adoption of test automation for regression and API testing (using Selenium,TestNG, Postman, JMeter, Power Automate, etc.).
Integrate testing and release activities within CI / CD pipelines to enable faster, high-quality deployments.
Establish and maintain QA and Release dashboards to track defect density, release cycletime, and quality metrics.
Monitor release health post go-live and coordinate hypercare support and stabilizationactivities.
E. Governance & Continuous Improvement
Institutionalize Testing & Release Governance frameworks.Conduct periodic audits of release management processes and environment consistency.Lead post-release retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities and lessonslearned.
Drive a culture of Quality by Design and Release Discipline across Digital and IT teams.Benefits
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology.Certifications in ISTQB, ITIL, Agile Testing, or Release Management preferred.10–14 years of experience in Software Testing, Release Management, or QA Governance,including at least 3–5 years in a lead role.
Hands-on experience in enterprise-scale digital systems testing and deployment (ERP,CRM, HRMS, WMS, etc.).
Proven experience with test automation, release planning, and CI / CD environments.Exposure to SAP testing, integration validation, and data migration testing desirable.Strong understanding of Agile / DevOps frameworks and cross-system releaseorchestration.
