The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) , established in 1998 by a Statute of the State of Andhra Pradesh, is one of India's premier legal institutions. Since its inception, the University has been a hub for vital conversations on law and justice—recognising that questions of justice arise in courts, corporations, education, and administration.

To strengthen this commitment, applications are invited for the position of Director – Communications , who will lead the development and implementation of NALSAR's communications strategy.

Role Summary

The Director – Communications will oversee all internal and external communications, brand and media relations, digital outreach, and stakeholder engagement. The role also includes building and leading a communications team to ensure effective amplification of the University's brand and values across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the University's vision and objectives.
• Oversee internal communications for clarity, consistency, and timely dissemination of information.
• Lead external communications, including media relations, press releases, interviews, and crisis communication.
• Manage the University's digital presence (social media, newsletters, blogs, multimedia). Use analytics to evaluate impact.
• Maintain and update the University's website; coordinate the publication of the Annual Report.
• Coordinate design, visuals, and AV content; collaborate with creative professionals to produce high-quality materials.
• Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels, publications, and events.
• Design and implement communication plans for events, seminars, conferences, and initiatives across departments.
• Act as spokesperson / point of contact with media and other stakeholders.
• Build and lead the communications / external relations team—recruit, mentor, define roles, and manage workflows.
• Manage budgets and resources for communication activities.
• Ensure compliance with institutional, legal, and ethical guidelines, including copyright, data protection, and accessibility standards.
