About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Specialist – Antibody Discovery to join our team in Hyderabad. In this senior individual contributor role, you will lead the end-to-end execution of antibody discovery and upstream biologics activities, managing a sub-team within the Antibody Discovery group. Reporting to the Antibody Discovery Lead, you will be responsible for strategy alignment, resource management, and risk mitigation, while ensuring the successful delivery of assigned programs.
What You'll Do
- Program Leadership : Lead and manage assigned antibody discovery programs, aligning on plans, milestones, and risk mitigation with the Antibody Discovery Lead.
- Antibody Generation : Generate therapeutic, tool-grade, and anti-idiotypic antibodies utilizing platforms such as hybridoma, phage / yeast display, and single B-cell screening technologies.
- Cell Line Engineering : Drive cell engineering for recombinant cell lines using state-of-the-art techniques, including lentiviral transduction, CRISPR / Cas9, and traditional transfection.
- Reagent and Clone Development : Oversee the generation of high-quality reagents (cell lines, recombinant proteins, antibodies) with robust documentation (SOPs / ELN) and quality control. Execute and optimize clone development workflows and screening funnels for mAb / recombinant protein production.
- Upstream Operations : Manage upstream activities for large-molecule discovery, covering mammalian cell culture from shake flasks to bench-top bioreactors, ensuring compliance with safety and data integrity standards.
- Team & Project Management : Mentor and guide junior scientists / associates. Coordinate effectively with Protein Sciences, Analytics, Process Development, and Biology to ensure timely program delivery.
- Client Interface : Interface with clients (under the Lead’s direction) to present technical updates, manage scope / timelines, and support proposals and Statements of Work (SoWs).
What You'll Bring
Education & Experience :
PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in antibody discovery and recombinant protein production. (Experience within a CRO / CDMO environment is preferred).Key Skills :
Deep expertise in multiple antibody discovery platforms (hybridoma, phage / yeast display, single B-cell).Hands-on proficiency in cell line engineering techniques (lentiviral transduction, CRISPR / Cas9).Strong background in clone development and upstream operations for biologics.Proven abilities in team leadership, project execution, and stakeholder / client management.Excellent documentation, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
