Position Title : Planning Engineer – Façade

1. Purpose of the Role :
The Planning Engineer plays a key role in developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules, ensuring full alignment between design, procurement, fabrication, and installation teams. The position focuses on project coordination, performance tracking, and risk management to ensure the timely delivery of façade projects within defined scope, cost, and quality parameters.
2. Key Responsibilities :
A. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed baseline schedules for façade projects covering design, procurement, fabrication, logistics, and installation activities.
- Coordinate with design, production, procurement, and project teams to integrate inputs into a unified project plan.
- Prepare Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and define milestones, critical paths, and dependencies for all project phases.
- Regularly update and maintain project schedules in coordination with respective department heads.
- Monitor daily and weekly progress, updating dashboards to highlight deviations or delays.
- Prepare short-term (weekly / monthly) look-ahead schedules and action plans.
B. Coordination & Communication
Act as a key interface between Design, Procurement, Production, and Project Execution teams to ensure seamless data flow and timeline alignment.Participate in project review meetings and present schedule performance reports.Coordinate with commercial and finance teams for progress-linked billing and cash flow projections.Support client and consultant meetings by providing project timeline updates and forecasts.C. Progress Monitoring & Control
Compare actual progress against baseline schedules to identify variances and potential risks.Maintain and update the Risk and Delay Register capturing delay description, root cause, responsible department, corrective action, and expected recovery.Coordinate with concerned departments to initiate corrective measures.Generate weekly and monthly progress reports highlighting achievements, issues, and mitigation measures.Track productivity rates and KPIs across fabrication and site installation activities.D. Data Management & Reporting
Develop and maintain project dashboards for management review, integrating data from ERP or project management tools.Prepare resource allocation charts and manpower plans for ongoing projects.Coordinate material delivery timelines with procurement and stores to avoid bottlenecks.Analyze historical data and lessons learned to improve the accuracy of future project planning.E. Support the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for planning and project control.Participate in cross-functional planning sessions for new tenders and estimation processes.Recommend process improvements to enhance project predictability and operational performance.Assist in developing standardized planning templates and reporting systems across projects.5. Qualification, Experience & Skills :
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).Preferably Certification in Project PlanningExperience :
Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in project planning within the façade industry (façade experience is mandatory).Proven experience coordinating across multiple functional departments.Technical Skills :
Proficiency in project management toolsStrong working knowledge of Excel, Power BI, and project reporting tools.Understanding of façade systems, fabrication processes, and installation sequencing.Behavioral Competencies :
