Mortgage Underwriter

About the Role :

We are looking for experienced Mortgage Underwriters to join our growing team supporting a leading US-based client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in underwriting mortgage loan files, ensuring compliance with investor guidelines, and maintaining excellent turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities :

• Review and analyze mortgage loan applications to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with agency / investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, etc.).
• Evaluate borrower income, credit, assets, and collateral to assess risk and determine eligibility.
• Maintain quality standards and adhere to SLAs and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with loan processors, loan officers, and quality control teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Document underwriting decisions and maintain accurate records in the loan origination system.
• Stay updated on regulatory and policy changes affecting underwriting Minimum 2 years of experience in US Mortgage Underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of Conventional and Government loan programs.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work in night shifts (US timings).
• Immediate to 30 days' joiners preferred.
