Key Responsibilities
Organic & Viral Growth Hacking (No Traditional Paid Ads)
Zero-Traditional-Ad Growth Strategy : Define, execute, and own the entire organic and viral growth strategy, driving core metrics like sign-ups, active users, and retention without using traditional paid advertising channels (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc.).
Viral Loops : Architect and implement product-based viral mechanics, referral programs, and incentives that encourage users to organically invite others, turning the product into its own primary growth engine.
SEO & Content : Leverage deep understanding of SEO, content promotion, and link-building to capture organic search traffic and establish platform authority.
Guerrilla Marketing & Creative Acquisition
Unconventional Tactics : Conceptualize and deploy disruptive, "guerrilla" marketing campaigns that generate buzz, PR, and mass awareness on minimal budget.
Creative User Acquisition (CRITICAL) : Develop ingenious, ethical, and resourceful strategies to identify and reach top-tier freelance talent across the web. Find creative ways to connect with high-quality freelancers where they naturally spend time online and convert them to our platform. This is a core responsibility requiring innovative thinking about non-traditional acquisition channels and approaches.
Experimental Mindset : Design and run high-velocity A / B tests and low-cost experiments across all channels, constantly searching for non-obvious growth opportunities.
Community Building & Engagement
Platform Ownership : Own and drive active community engagement and growth across critical third-party platforms, including Reddit, Quora, Discord, niche forums, Product Hunt, Hacker News, and industry Slack / Telegram groups.
Voice of the User : Actively participate in discussions, providing genuine value and subtly introducing the product in relevant contexts to build brand trust and drive quality organic traffic. Must understand platform culture and rules intimately.
Feedback Loops : Establish a system for funneling community insights and user feedback directly to the Product and Engineering teams to inform the roadmap and accelerate product-market fit.
Influencer & Creator Relationship Management
Strategic Outreach : Identify and build genuine, mutually beneficial relationships with micro and macro-influencers, content creators, and industry thought leaders who resonate with freelancers and gig workers—from productivity YouTubers to career-focused TikTokers to thought leaders.
Partnership Management : Manage the entire partnership lifecycle, securing features, reviews, and authentic endorsements that drive significant user volume and credibility. Limited budget available for strategic influencer partnerships and collaborations—you'll need to allocate resources wisely for maximum ROI.
Active Personal Brand & Online Presence
Demonstrate What You Preach : Maintain an authentic online presence and actively participate in relevant communities. We want someone who genuinely understands content, engagement, and online culture—not necessarily as a marketer, but as someone who lives and breathes digital community dynamics.
First 90 Days Focus
Your primary mission will be driving initial user acquisition through creative, ethical strategies while simultaneously building our presence in communities where our target users naturally congregate. You'll need to move fast, test relentlessly, and find innovative solutions to reach users through non-traditional channels.
