About the Role :
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Test Engineering Manager to support the Test Engineering Manager in overseeing the testing and quality assurance activities of our software development lifecycle. You will help lead a team of QA engineers and testers, ensuring that software releases meet high standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role blends hands-on testing expertise with leadership and coordination responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Test Engineering Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing all testing activities across multiple projects.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of QA engineers and testers to ensure high productivity and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with development, product management, and other cross-functional teams to define testing requirements and strategies.
- Help establish, implement, and enforce QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across manual and automated testing efforts for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Track testing progress, identify bottlenecks, and proactively manage risks and issues.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new QA team members.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for testing tools, frameworks, and infrastructure.
- Facilitate communication between QA teams and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on quality goals.
- Provide timely reporting and documentation on test metrics, defects, and release readiness.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.6+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.Prior experience leading or coordinating QA teams or projects.Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, QA processes, and lifecycle management.Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).Proficiency in manual testing for web, mobile, or desktop applications.Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.(ref : hirist.tech)
