Senior Project Manager - IT Divestiture Projects

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead complex IT divestiture initiatives, ensuring seamless separation of technology systems, infrastructure, and data while maintaining security, compliance, and operational continuity. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and experience managing large-scale IT separation projects in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

• IT Separation Strategy & Planning : Develop and manage detailed IT separation plans, including infrastructure, applications, and data migration. Define technical cutover strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Execution of IT Divestiture : Oversee application carve-outs, ERP system segregation, and cloud migration activities. Manage network and infrastructure separation, ensuring minimal downtime and risk. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements (SOX, GDPR).
• Stakeholder & Vendor Management : Act as the primary liaison between internal IT teams, external vendors, and divested entity stakeholders. Facilitate technical workshops, steering committees, and status meetings.
• Risk & Issue Management : Identify IT-specific risks such as data integrity, system downtime, and security breaches. Implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Testing & Validation : Lead technical testing for migrated systems and applications. Validate data integrity and system performance post-separation.
• Reporting & Governance : Maintain accurate project documentation, including architecture diagrams and migration plans. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and budget.

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience : 8+ years in IT project management, with at least 3 years in divestiture or M&A IT separation projects. Hands-on experience with infrastructure migration, ERP carve-outs, and cloud environments.

Skills : Strong knowledge of IT architecture, data migration, and cybersecurity. Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and integration tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and vendor management skills.
