chains across cities to fulfil all customer orders faster. The company's operations have expanded to 100+ cities
in India. bigbasket has ventured into 10-min delivery service through bbnow and is one of the fastest-growing
quick commerce delivery options. bigbasket is also expending its offline presence with its fresho stores and
Supermart supermarkets.
The Zonal Head plays a critical role in driving bigbasket's growth and success within a designated zone,
overseeing end-to-end operations across multiple clusters. This leadership position demands a strong blend of
strategic thinking, operational expertise, and people management skills to achieve ambitious targets, ensure
customer satisfaction, and maximize profitability.
What is expected from this role
Key Responsibilities :
Zone Leadership and P&L Management :
o Lead a team of 700 -1200 employees (blue and white collared) across various departments
(operations, marketing and sales).
o Manage a zone comprising of 2-3 Clusters, with a monthly revenue exceeding ₹15 Crore,
ensuring profitability and financial accountability.
o Develop and implement a comprehensive zone-specific business plan aligned with
bigbasket's overall strategy, focusing on growth, market share expansion, and cost
optimization.
o Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, fill rate,
in-basket-not-delivered (IBND), manpower, productivity, and customer satisfaction metrics
Strategic Growth and Operations :
o Plan and execute business expansion within the assigned zone, including manpower
budgeting and resource allocation.
o Drive brand visibility and awareness to increase market share within the zone.
o Contribute to the strategic direction of the operations structure for enhanced operational
efficiency and customer service.
o Oversee smooth operation across multiple stores within various clusters, ensuring inventory
management, stock control, and customer order fulfillment.
People Management and Development :
o Lead, coach, and develop the team, including Cluster Managers, to achieve individual and
group targets while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
o Implement training and development programs to continuously improve employee
capabilities and drive operational excellence.
Who are we looking for
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 12 years of experience in a leadership role within the FMCG, retail, or e-commerce industry.
Proven track record of achieving business growth, and managing P&L effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
