Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute International Sales Executive – Europe to drive growth across two critical business verticals :
Rights & Co-Edition (Private Labelling / OEM Business) – Selling publishing rights and managing co-edition projects in various European languages.
Distribution Business – Expanding the reach of Pegasus’ English-language catalogue through distributors, bookstores, and retailers across Europe.
The role requires a mix of strategic business development, account management, and operational execution to establish Pegasus as a leading children’s brand in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Identify, approach, and onboard publishing partners for co-editions, licensing, and OEM / private-label deals across European markets.
Build and expand distribution networks for Pegasus’ English titles with distributors, wholesalers, and major retailers.
Drive sales targets for both rights & co-editions and distribution business, ensuring sustained year-on-year growth.
Account & Relationship Management
Manage and grow relationships with publishing houses, distributors, and retail chains.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, print runs, and delivery timelines with partners.
Act as the primary point of contact for European clients, ensuring smooth coordination with Pegasus’ editorial, production, and logistics teams in India.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
Monitor European publishing and distribution trends, identifying new opportunities in children’s content and formats.
Provide insights into competitor activity, consumer preferences, and regional regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams to adapt Pegasus’ products and packaging to suit European market requirements.
Operations & Coordination
Liaise with editorial and production teams for co-edition schedules, print files, and delivery planning.
Ensure timely execution of orders, maintaining high service and quality standards.
Represent Pegasus at international book fairs (Frankfurt, Bologna, London Book Fair, etc.) and trade events.
Desired Skills & Experience
3–6 years of experience in international publishing sales, rights, co-editions, or book distribution (experience in children’s publishing preferred).
Proven track record in closing deals in Europe – either in publishing, OEM, or rights / licensing.
Strong negotiation and account management skills.
Familiarity with co-edition workflows, publishing rights, and distribution structures.
Excellent communication in English; additional European languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian, etc.) highly desirable.
Willingness to travel frequently across Europe for meetings, fairs, and exhibitions.
