Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and strategic professional to join our leadership team as Assistant General Manager – Corporate Affairs . The incumbent will be responsible for driving the organization's government relations, institutional liaison, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. This role plays a key part in shaping the company's external environment, enhancing its public image, and ensuring alignment between business goals and regulatory frameworks.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing corporate and public affairs, building high-level institutional relationships, and providing strategic support to senior leadership in managing external communications and reputation risk.
Key Responsibilities :
Government & Regulatory Affairs :
- Establish and nurture effective relationships with government agencies, regulators, and industry bodies to represent the company's interests and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.
Institutional Liaison & Stakeholder Management :
Act as the key point of contact for external stakeholders, including government officials, business associations, and community representatives, to promote mutual collaboration and trust.Policy Advocacy & Representation :
Monitor policy and regulatory developments, prepare position papers, and advocate on behalf of the organization to shape favorable outcomes aligned with business objectives.Corporate Communications & Reputation Management :
Support leadership in crafting and executing communication strategies, managing media relations, and mitigating potential reputation risks through proactive engagement.Strategic Coordination :
Collaborate with internal departments such as Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Communications to ensure consistency in corporate messaging and execution of cross-functional initiatives.Advisory & Reporting :
Provide strategic insights on emerging socio-political and regulatory trends that could impact the organization. Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management review.Other Responsibilities :
Undertake any additional assignments or initiatives as directed by the leadership team to support organizational priorities.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, or related discipline. A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.10–15 years of experience in corporate affairs, public policy, or stakeholder engagement, ideally within a large organization or regulated industry.Key Skills :
Proven government liaison and institutional relationship management experience.Strong strategic thinking and policy analysis capabilities.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-stakes external issues.Collaborative leadership style with a results-driven mindset.Skills Required
