Role Overview :
The Associate Professor in
Applied Economics
will play a key role in strengthening the teaching, research, and academic leadership of the department. The role involves developing and delivering high-quality learning experiences, leading research initiatives, mentoring junior faculty, and engaging with industry and policy forums to enhance the university’s visibility in applied economics.
Key Responsibilities :
Deliver advanced-level lectures and tutorials in Applied Economics and related subjects such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and Data Analytics for Economics.
Supervise postgraduate research, projects, and dissertations.
Contribute to curriculum design and continuous improvement aligned with NEP 2020 and outcome-based learning frameworks.
Lead and publish high-impact research in reputed indexed journals.
Mentor Assistant Professors and Teaching Assistants in teaching pedagogy and academic research.
Collaborate with industry, think tanks, and research institutions for academic and policy-driven projects.
Participate in departmental administration, academic committees, and accreditation processes.
Represent the department at academic conferences, seminars, and outreach activities.
Qualification & Experience :
Ph.D. in Economics / Applied Economics / Quantitative Economics from a recognized university.
Minimum 8–10 years of teaching and research experience at the university level with publications in reputed journals (Scopus / ABDC listed preferred).
Proven track record of guiding research scholars or contributing to funded projects.
Strong academic leadership, mentoring, and research collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills & Attributes :
Expertise in econometric modeling, quantitative analysis, and use of tools like STATA, R, SPSS, or Python.
Strong communication, analytical, and classroom engagement skills.
Ability to integrate economic theory with industry applications and policy insights.
