The Professor of Economics / Finance / Econometrics will play a critical role in advancing the School of Business’s teaching, research, and global engagement goals. The role involves leading applied and theoretical research, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, mentoring junior faculty, and contributing to the development of innovative academic programs aligned with future economic and financial paradigms.
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in scholarship, teaching, and intellectual leadership—preferably with outputs recognized in SCOPUS, ABDC, ABS, or SSCI-indexed journals.
Key Responsibilities :
Academic & Teaching :
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Economics, Finance, and Econometrics, integrating analytical and applied approaches.
- Design and revise curriculum to reflect emerging global trends such as behavioral finance, digital economics, financial technologies, and quantitative modeling.
- Mentor students on dissertations, research projects, and case competitions.
- Integrate experiential learning, simulations, and data-driven pedagogy into teaching practice.
Research & Scholarship :
Produce high-quality research publications in peer-reviewed international journals (ABDC / ABS / Scopus / SSCI).Develop and lead research projects, policy papers, and consultancy engagements in areas such as :Development & applied economicsFinancial econometrics & market microstructureBehavioral and experimental financeMonetary and fiscal policy analysisSustainability and ESG financeSupervise doctoral students under the Woxsen Research & Doctoral Office (WRDO).Engage with the Exploratory Research Centre (ERC) and contribute to Moonshot Research Themes such as :Quantum FinanceSustainable Planetary FuturesCognitive AI in Economic SystemsInstitutional & Global Engagement :
Build research collaborations with government, industry, and international universities.Contribute to rankings, accreditations (AACSB, EQUIS), and outreach initiatives.Participate in executive education, think-tank projects, and international conferences.Desired Profile :
Essential Qualifications :
Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, or closely related fields from a reputed institution.Demonstrated track record of high-impact research publications.Evidence of teaching excellence and curriculum innovation.Preferred Experience :
Experience with interdisciplinary and applied research projects.Familiarity with data analytics tools (Stata, R, Python, EViews, etc.).International teaching / research exposure and participation in funded projects.Contributions to policy advisory boards, editorial boards, or academic associations.
