About the Role
Overall responsibility of accounts of the company and managing a team of 8 persons, providing guidance and training to the accounts team in all areas of general book keeping and statutory aspects. Ensuring that books of accounts are maintained in accurate and timely manner in accordance with the applicable Accounting Standards and Rules. Timely monthly closing of accounts, MIS submission, ledger balances confirmation, provisional entries, indirect and direct tax amount finalization, inventory verification and bank reconciliation. Coordinate the monthly / year end audits, work closely with accounts team, external agencies and auditors to provide all relevant information and explanation and ensure timely completion of audits. MAT and Advance tax calculations and remittance, filing income tax returns, replying to notices from IT department and liaison with lawyer / consultants regarding scrutiny / assessments etc.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that books of accounts are maintained in accurate and timely manner in accordance with the applicable Accounting Standards and Rules.
- Timely monthly closing of accounts, MIS submission, ledger balances confirmation, provisional entries, indirect and direct tax amount finalization, inventory verification and bank reconciliation.
- Coordinate the monthly / year end audits, work closely with accounts team, external agencies and auditors to provide all relevant information and explanation and ensure timely completion of audits.
- MAT and Advance tax calculations and remittance, filing income tax returns, replying to notices from IT department and liaison with lawyer / consultants regarding scrutiny / assessments etc.
- GST Compliance : Working knowledge of GST invoicing, input tax credit, reverse charge mechanism, and e-way bills.
- Corporate Tax Planning : Working knowledge about the provisions of Corporate Income Tax provisions. Familiarity with transfer pricing provisions and scrutiny.
- TDS & Withholding Tax Management : Accurate deduction, timely deposit, and filing of TDS returns. Understanding of Section 194 series and implications for vendors and contractors.
- Tax Technology & Software Proficiency : Use of Microsoft office tools and government portals for filing tax returns and reconciliations.
- Working with Auditors : Coordinating with external auditors (both Statutory and Cost Auditors) ensuring timely closure of books and resolving audit queries. Maintaining audit trails and documentation.
- Familiarity of SAP ECC : Expert level knowledge of accounting mechanism in ECC SAP. Should be able to analyse the data in SAP ERP, extract reports for reporting both internal and external, guide the team in transactions, clarify the query of Auditors.
EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY : : (Total 14 yrs. of experience)
The candidate should have worked with a firm of Chartered Accountants and handled audit assignments including finalization of accounts of manufacturing companies registered in India for at least 5 years.The candidate should also have worked in manufacturing organizations for a period not less than 10 years with a turnover of 300 Crores + where the accounts are maintained in SAP ECC handling a team of at least five executives with responsibility to finalize the accounts, coordinate the audit(s), file Direct and indirect Tax returns, Coordinate the assessments and scrutiny including transfer pricing.QUALIFICATION :
A full time graduate degree in commerce or related areas (BCom, BBA, BBM etc.)Passed the Intermediate Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India / Institute of Cost Accountants of India / M Com / Post Graduate Degree in Finance and Accounts / Post Graduate Degree in Finance and Accounts
