Role Objective
To lead TIPL’s business development efforts in securing government contracts and subcontracting partnerships with Class A contractors across India. The GM will drive growth through strategic networking, government liaison, and contract negotiations, leveraging deep industry knowledge and 20+ years of experience in infrastructure execution.
Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and secure large-scale government infrastructure contracts across PWD, WRD, TWAD, Smart City, and EPC sectors.
- Establish subcontracting partnerships with Class A contractors and major EPC firms nationwide.
- Formulate and execute TIPL’s PAN India growth strategy in contracting and subcontracting works.
2. Client & Government Liaison
Build and sustain relationships with senior officials in government departments, consultants, and contractors .Act as the company’s representative for tender discussions, negotiations, and MoUs .Provide strategic advice to management on navigating government systems and compliance frameworks.3. Tendering & Project Acquisition
Oversee preparation of prequalification documents, DPRs, BOQs, proposals, and tenders .Guide the estimation and project teams in presenting competitive, compliant bids.Ensure timely participation in tenders and subcontract proposals across multiple states.4. Leadership & Team Management
Lead a marketing and BD team to ensure consistent opportunity pipeline.Mentor mid-level managers in government liaison, proposal writing, and client engagement.Drive cross-functional coordination with technical, finance, and project delivery teams.5. Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy
Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging opportunities in infra works.Recommend alliances, joint ventures, and partnerships to expand TIPL’s footprint.Present regular business performance reports to the Board.Required Skills & Competencies
Proven leadership in government infrastructure contracting (PWD, WRD, TWAD, Smart City, EPC).Strong network with Class A contractors, EPC firms, and government officials .Deep understanding of tendering, DPRs, BOQs, and contract management .Exceptional negotiation, networking, and communication skills.Ability to lead multi-state operations and manage cross-functional teams.Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory).MBA or equivalent qualification in Business Management preferred.20+ years of experience in infrastructure contracting / EPC / government works.Minimum 10 years in a senior leadership role handling business development and government liaison.Compensation
