Key Responsibilities :
- Counseling and Support :
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students dealing with academic, emotional, or social issues.
- Develop and implement intervention plans to support students' mental and emotional health.
- Assist students in developing coping strategies and problem-solving skills.
- Assessment and Evaluation :
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify students' needs and challenges.
- Monitor and evaluate students progress and adjust counseling approaches as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and implement behavioral plans.
- Crisis Intervention :
- Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, such as incidents of bullying, trauma, or severe emotional distress.
- Offer guidance to students and staff during emergencies and refer to external services when necessary.
- Collaboration and Consultation :
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to address students' academic and behavioral concerns.
- Serve as a resource for staff and parents, providing guidance on psychological and emotional issues.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for teachers and parents on student mental health and well-being.
- Program Development :
- Develop and implement programs aimed at improving the overall mental health and well-being of the student body.
- Organize awareness campaigns and activities on topics such as stress management, peer relationships, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
- Prepare reports on student assessments and counseling outcomes for review by school administration.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.Certification or licensure as a School Counselor or Psychologist.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a school or educational setting.Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.Sensitivity to diverse cultures and backgrounds.Preferred Skills :
Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution.Knowledge of current counseling practices and methodologies.Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and confidentiality.Proficiency in using counseling and assessment tools.Skills Required
