Position : Head of Private Label Function - FMCG Category Level : Senior Executive / Leadership

Are you a strategic leader with a strong consulting foundation and a passion for building impactful FMCG brands? We’re looking for a Head of Private Label Function (FMCG Category) to drive innovation, profitability, and category leadership across our private label portfolio.

About the Role

As the Head of Private Label, you will own the end-to-end vision and execution of our FMCG private label business — from concept to shelf. This is a high-impact leadership role where strategic thinking meets hands-on execution, requiring close collaboration across product, supply chain, and marketing functions.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive private label strategy aligned with organizational growth goals.

Lead category development, product innovation, and portfolio expansion across FMCG segments.

Manage supplier ecosystems, negotiate contracts, and ensure supply chain excellence.

Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, marketing, and operations for seamless go-to-market execution.

Drive commercial success through data-driven pricing, promotions, and customer insights.

Lead and mentor a high-performing team of category managers and analysts.

Qualifications

Education : MBA from a premier institute (IIM / ISB / equivalent).

Consulting Experience : At least 1 year of experience with an MBB firm (McKinsey, BCG, or Bain) — mandatory.

Proven track record of managing P&L and delivering scalable business outcomes.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills with a strategic mindset.

Preferred Skills

Industry Experience : 2–10 years in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce with a minimum of 2 years in private label / category management.

Exposure to modern trade, digital commerce, or omnichannel retail.

Experience in emerging FMCG segments such as health & wellness, organic, or sustainable products.

Certifications in quality or process excellence (Six Sigma, ISO, etc.).

Pay range and compensation package

Location : Hyderabad

Travel : 20–30% (supplier visits, market research, stakeholder meetings)
