The Assistant Manager - Preform & Closures Sales (Exports) is a high-growth, strategic role based in Bangalore (Electronic City Phase 2), responsible for spearheading the global expansion of the company's preform and closures portfolio.
This individual will be instrumental in identifying and capitalizing on new export business opportunities, developing targeted "Go-To-Market" (GTM) strategies, and managing key customer relationships across diverse international geographies.
The role demands a combination of aggressive new business development, consultative selling, and operational management of export sales and collections, with significant international travel required.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Business Development and Market Proactively identify, qualify, and tap into new business opportunities by targeting potential customers for PET Preforms and Closures across focus markets, including but not limited to Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
- Plan, design, develop, and meticulously implement market-specific, high-impact export "Go-To-Market" (GTM) models, addressing unique regulatory, logistical, and competitive dynamics in each region.
- Strategically identify, evaluate, and establish effective partnerships by setting up a robust channel network of distributors and agents in target markets to maximize reach and market share.
Sales Execution and Financial Achieve and exceed aggressive sales and collection plans seamlessly, focusing on maximizing revenue and optimizing working capital through effective credit control and timely payment realization.
Actively and technically promote the Companys portfolio of preform and closure products, articulating complex technical specifications, material properties, and value propositions (e.g., lightweighting, barrier technology) to key customers.Manage the day-to-day export business operations for assigned geographies, including forecasting, order management, and coordination with production and logistics teams.Customer Relationship Management and Build, sustain, and elevate effective and collaborative partnerships with both new and existing international customers, with a primary focus on the global beverages industry (CSD, Water, Juice).
Conduct all quotation follow-up calls and contact diligently via the designated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring accurate tracking of sales pipeline stages and opportunity progression.Cultivate and manage senior-level relationships (e.g., Procurement Heads, Supply Chain Directors) at major international beverage companies to secure long-term, high-volume contracts.Strategy and Operational Continuously review and analyze the effectiveness of the current GTM strategy, identifying key operational and market bottlenecks, and proactively recommending and implementing corrective actions to optimize the export framework.
Demonstrate significant experience in developing export business in new, unpenetrated markets and establishing resilient distribution channels from the ground up.Maintain a high willingness to travel (up to 50% travel may be required) internationally to meet customers, qualify partners, and execute market development strategies.Required Skills and Graduate degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
Minimum of 5+ years of significant experience in B2B sales, specifically selling to the beverage or packaging industry in a global capacity (Exports).Proven track record of developing export business and successfully setting up distribution channels in new, international territories.Demonstrated ability to conduct high-level negotiation and manage complex contractual relationships with senior stakeholders.Strong capabilities in market analysis, business planning, and developing localized GTM strategies.Excellent command of written and verbal communication skills for professional engagement with international clients.Willingness and ability to undertake extensive international travel (up to 50%).Possesses geographical market knowledge across key focus areas : Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Europe.Preferred Skills :
