Role Overview :
The Business Sales Manager (BSM) is responsible for driving the acquisition of Current Accounts and associated business banking products in the assigned geography. The role involves leading customer acquisition initiatives, deepening relationships with small and medium enterprises (SMEs), promoting Trade and Forex solutions, and achieving business targets. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the banking ecosystem and a demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships, sales targets, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities :
Customer Acquisition & Portfolio Management
- Acquire new Current Account (CA) customers in the business banking segment through self-sourcing and team efforts
- Identify and onboard quality customers aligned with bank's eligibility criteria and product offerings
- Ensure early activation and consistent usage of acquired accounts
Business Development & Cross-Selling
Promote and cross-sell Trade Finance, Forex, Payment Solutions, Loans, and other banking productsWork closely with product teams and subject matter experts to generate revenue from non-fund productsDeepen wallet share and build long-term relationships with clientsTarget Achievement & Sales Planning
Meet monthly / quarterly acquisition and income targets across CA, Trade, Forex, and other cross-sell parametersPrepare and execute area-specific plans based on business potential, competition mapping, and catchment strategyDigital & Compliance Enablement
Ensure digital onboarding and promote usage of digital platforms (Smart Trade, Net Banking, IRIS, etc.)Ensure 100% adherence to KYC, compliance, and internal policy guidelinesGuide customers on documentation, regulatory processes, and timely account activationMarket Intelligence & Feedback
Regularly share feedback from customers and market trends with leadership to refine strategy and improve product offeringsKeep track of competition activities and identify new business opportunities in the marketTeam Coordination & Support
Coordinate with Branch Banking, Product, and Operations teams to ensure end-to-end service deliverySupport junior sales staff or outsourced executives in deal closures and lead managementSkills Required
