We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Systems Administrator.
In this role, you will :
- 1st – 2nd Line Production Support for the domain
- Incident Management, ensuring all root causes are followed up with engineering / vendor
- Deliver an Infrastructure and software provisioning for the domain
- Be part of capacity and performance management capability for the domain in conjunction with engineering
- Ensure SLA commitments are met, and escalate accordingly
- Ensure ISR policies and procedures are adhered to
- Work with Engineering and operations to ensure our environment is monitored appropriately and healthy.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements :
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of VMware technologies & products, scripting, automation. (Vmware , powercli, powershell)Deep technical understanding of IaaS, PaaS, software defined networking and VirtualisationExisting proven technical skills covering Vcenter, Vrops and VRa / Vro skills highly desirableExperience working in relevant environment / s, It infrastructure supportExperience working in relevant market / context, Cloud Services and VirtualisationPast working experience in a relevant role, Worked in a similar role before in a global organisationPast working experience on relevant systems, Virtualisation technologies, automation, Storage, networksExperience of using relevant software packages, Global service deskAvailability to work the shift pattern required for this role, Availability to be on a call out Rota is needed for this roleAvailability to undertake the travel required for this role, Ad Hoc as needed globallyWillingness to undertake the training / study required in this role, Willingness to undertake training and study as needed for new products and servicesExperience working in relevant environment / s, Virtualisation and cloud in a similar function is desirable but not essentialExperience working in relevant market / context, Global Support / Virtualisation and cloud is desirable but not essentialPast working experience in a relevant role, Global Support is desirable but not essentialPrevious experience of delivering an excellent customer serviceAn open, flexible and supportive approach to change and innovationSet and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their fieldBoth spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be deliveredContributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goalsExperience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficientlySupported project teams / managers, showing an understanding of the basic principles of project managementExperience of personally complying with business processes, rules and regulationsIn addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have worked as part of a Global Support team, and be customer focussed.
