About the Team
Global Merchandising Product Group is focused on building enterprise products that provide increasing efficiency, data integrity & process automation to support product life cycle activities inclusive of product design and development, sourcing, quality assurance and compliance, private branding, creative services, and after sales for our Lowe’s Business partners (Merchants, Sourcing, quality assurance, Product development etc.).
Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to provide consultation and technical direction on translating business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, with an expectation of strong AI skills to enhance solution development. This includes facilitating the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure the successful deployment of released applications. The role serves as a technical expert for project teams throughout the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions. Additionally, this role involves personally developing and delivering code modules, stable application systems and integrated enterprise software solutions within various computing environments, leveraging AI capabilities to optimize processes and innovate solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Resolves complex problems spanning multiple applications to drive improvements across portfolios; leads projects with significant business implications, participates in planning and priority estimates, and advises Software Engineers, executes with limited guidance
- Leads development of integrated business and / or enterprise application solutions to ensure specifications are flexible, scalable, and maintainable and meet architectural standards
- Educates others on current architectural standards and guidelines to drive efficiency when leading the design efforts of complex business and enterprise software solutions
- Supports systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for large, complex, cross-functional application initiatives by providing insight to testing teams in order to ensure the appropriate depth of test coverage
- Mentors and advises others in all software development lifecycle phases by applying and sharing an in-depth understanding of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls
- Communicates changes in software architecture and coaches others to apply this understanding to software solutions; resolves escalated issues
- Leads efforts to improve engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices
- Solves complex cross-functional architecture / design and business problems; solutions are extensible; works to simplify, optimize, remove bottlenecks, etc.
- Mentors and advises others, sharing an in-depth understanding of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls
Years Of Experience
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in software development, with a proven track record in leading engineering teams.At least 1-2 years of experience in a lead role, leading complex projects and collaborating across diverse teams.Demonstrated experience in product implementation and support, with a strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.Experience in troubleshooting and resolving production issues in a timely manner.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.Prior experience in leading software development teams and projects is preferred.Primary Skills (must have)
Experience in developing products / applications using Java spring boot microservices.Proficiency in both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, with experience in designing data models and optimizing queries.Ability to stay current with AI advancements and evaluate their applicability to retail challenges.Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for application development, mentoring team members on selecting the right AI tools and methodologies to streamline workflows and improve product velocity.Good understanding and experience of using advances Java features and RESTPreferred experience with React JS and a solid understanding of JavaScript technologies.Experience in using GIT, Maven and understanding of CI / CD toolsExperience in writing automated unit tests using Junit / MockitoGood understanding on cloud-based architectures, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools for deploying applications in containerized environments.Security Best Practices : Understanding of application security principles, including authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, JWT).Performance Tuning : Ability to analyze and optimize application performance and scalability.Secondary Skills (desired)
Understanding of the retail landscape, the functionalities and challenges of e-commerce platforms and retail management systems.Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum or Kanban frameworks.Experience working with product managers and business teams to translate AI concepts into practical retail solutions.
