We’re on a mission to transform business travel into effortless experiences , and we’re looking for a passionate Lead Software Engineer to help us build scalable, intelligent travel platforms.

Role Overview

As the Lead Software Engineer , you’ll drive the architecture, design, and development of Plumtrip’s core travel platform and B2B products. You’ll mentor engineers, work closely with product and design teams, and ensure technical excellence, scalability, and innovation across our systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, architecture, and development of scalable web and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Own the technical roadmap, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Guide and mentor a team of engineers, promoting best practices in clean code, DevOps, and agile methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in system design, code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Implement integrations with APIs from airlines, hotels, GDS, payment gateways, and other travel partners.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend their adoption where valuable.

Requirements

  • Education : B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience : 4+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 1 years in a technical lead role.
  • Tech Stack Expertise :
  • Backend : Node.js, Python, or Java (Node.js preferred)
  • Frontend : React.js / Next.js, TypeScript
  • Database : PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL
  • Cloud : AWS / GCP / Azure, with CI / CD pipelines
  • DevOps : Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (preferred)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservice architecture.
  • Proven ability to manage sprints, mentor teams, and deliver high-quality releases on time.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and a drive for excellence.

    • Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in travel tech , B2B SaaS , or booking platforms (flights, hotels, transport).
  • Familiarity with AI-based recommendation systems or pricing engines .
  • Exposure to global distribution systems (GDS) like Amadeus, Sabre, or Travelport.
