About The Opportunity
We are expanding our surgical team at Devdort — a growing healthcare provider delivering high-quality, evidence-based general surgery services across on-site hospital settings in India. This is an on-site position for a hands-on General Surgeon who will lead operative care, manage surgical emergencies, and contribute to continuous improvement in perioperative outcomes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care for elective and emergency general surgical cases.
- Perform a wide range of procedures including open abdominal operations, laparoscopic surgeries, urgent laparotomies and common endoscopic interventions.
- Lead resuscitation and decision-making in surgical emergencies and trauma calls; coordinate with anaesthesia and critical care teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, surgical logs and participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents and theatre staff to uphold surgical safety protocols and infection-control standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (oncology, radiology, critical care, physiotherapy) to plan comprehensive patient pathways.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (MS / DNB) and valid medical registration in India (NMC / State Medical Council).Proven operative competency in open abdominal and laparoscopic procedures and emergency surgeries.Certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or equivalent.Demonstrable experience managing perioperative critical care and surgical emergencies.Preferred
Fellowship or formal training in gastrointestinal / HPB / oncologic surgery or advanced laparoscopy.Experience with minimally invasive / robotic surgery and supervised training experience.Benefits & Culture Highlights
