Sales & Marketing Manager Maharashtra
Role & Responsibilities :
- Sales Strategy & Execution : Develop and implement robust sales strategies to achieve ambitious business growth targets in Maharashtra's cattle feed market.
- Team Leadership & Development : Lead, mentor, and track the performance of a large, field-based sales team (30+ people),which includes setting and reviewing KPIs, conducting regular training sessions, and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Marketing Campaigns : Design, execute, and oversee effective marketing campaigns and promotional activities to enhance brand awareness and drive sales.
- Market Research & Analysis : Conduct thorough market research to identify customer segmentation, analyze sales data, and pinpoint new business opportunities.
- Client & Channel Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, distributors, and sub-distributors, you'll also be responsible for managing multi-tiered rural sales systems and resolving channel conflicts.
- Territory & Incentive Management : Handle territory planning, design and implement effective incentive programs for the sales team.
- Cross-functional Coordination : Coordinate closely with the production team to ensure alignment between sales forecasts and product availability.
- Rural Engagement : Organize and lead rural marketing tactics, including farmer engagement programs, village-level brand awareness campaigns, melas, demo sessions, and educational programs for farmers.
- Travel : Willingness and ability to travel extensively to remote rural areas across Maharashtra and nearby regions to manage the field team and engage with the Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in sales and marketing, with at least 3 to 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in agri-inputs, cattle feed, poultry feed, veterinary products, or rural FMCG distribution is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and track the performance of a large, field-based sales team (30+ Strong proven experience in Sales Strategy and Marketing Campaigns.
- Expertise in Market Research, Data Analysis, and Client Relationship Management.
- Experience with Promotional Activities and Business Development.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong understanding of distributor / sub-distributor networks and experience managing multi-tiered rural sales systems.
- Capable of handling territory planning, incentive programs, and channel conflict resolution.
- Proven ability in setting and reviewing KPIs, conducting training sessions, and building accountability.
- Familiarity with rural marketing tactics, farmer engagement programs, and village-level brand awareness campaigns.
- Ability to organize melas, demo sessions, educational programs for farmers, and drive seasonal sales campaigns.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team.
Language : Fluent in Marathi, Hindi, and basic English for effective communication with local teams, distributors, and upper management.
Education : Bachelor's / master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, or a related field
