Senior Bridge Designer

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out assessments of existing bridges and prepare reports with experience in Steel Composite, Pretension / Posttension structures.
• Conduct feasibility studies for strengthening and repair.
• Develop new bridge designs and strengthening designs to UK standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Perform design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) under the guidance of a senior or principal engineer.
• Compile drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines, including checking compliance with project briefs.
• Ensure correct implementation of document control and quality assurance processes for issue and filing / archiving of all work carried out.
• Produce work to specified design standards, suggest revisions as necessary, and ensure adherence to UK Design standards and quality assurance processes.
• Continuously develop and increase skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, and ARCHIE software, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
