Position Overview :
The Bursar will serve as the chief administrative officer of the school, responsible for overseeing all budgeting, procurement, and facility management. The role requires a detail-oriented, ethical, and proactive professional who can ensure efficient financial governance while supporting the school’s educational mission and long-term sustainability.
Key Roles and Responsibilities :
Financial Management :
- Develop and manage annual budgets in coordination with the Principal and Management Committee.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Oversee fee collection, billing, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Monitor expenditure to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgetary limits.
Administration and Compliance :
Ensure the school complies with all relevant financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.Maintain records related to contracts, leases, insurance, and statutory filings.Supervise administrative functions, including transport, inventory, and procurement processes.Facilities and Resource Management :
Oversee the maintenance of school infrastructure, boarding facilities, and utilities.Manage vendor contracts, service agreements, and asset inventories.Ensure campus operations meet safety, hygiene, and sustainability standards.Strategic and Operational Support :
Advise the Principal and Board on long-term financial planning and resource allocation.Contribute to policy formulation for financial and operational efficiency.Support fundraising, grant applications, and capital project planning where applicable.Qualifications and Experience :
Education :
Bachelor’s degreeMaster’s degree in Finance / MBA (preferred).
