What You'll Do At Pega :
80% Customer / Client Engagement :
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues across applications, databases and infrastructure.
- Assess hardware requirements and recommend optimal configurations.
- Conduct performance testing to validate scalability, reliability and responsiveness of applications in production and pre-production environments.
- Provide post-production support including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing system performance in live environments.
- Optimize and monitor Linux-based systems.
- Create and maintain dashboards in Grafana for Infra and application observability.
- Troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads in production environments.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics for AWS RDS, EC2 instances and pods.
- Tune JVM performance, including memory management and garbage collection.
- Optimize RDS performance using AWS Performance Insights and CloudWatch.
Skill Development & Technology Learning (~10%) :
Stay up to date with advancements in cloud-native observability, AWS services, and performance engineering.Explore emerging tools in monitoring, log analytics, and cloud automation.Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions, tech talks, or brown-bag sessions.Analyze real-time incidents to enhance knowledge of infrastructure behavior, and system performance characteristics.Collaboration & Innovation (10% of role) :

Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline.57 years of professional experience in infrastructure, cloud, or performance engineering roles.Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, EKS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC).AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (mandatory).Experience with performance benchmarking, capacity planning, and tuning in cloud environments is a plus.Strong experience managing and optimizing Linux-based systems.Fundamental understanding of Kubernetes architecture, deployments, scaling, troubleshooting experience is a plus.Fundamental understanding of JVM internals, garbage collection tuning, and memory management.Understanding of TCP / IP, DNS, load balancing, VPNs, and firewalls (covered under AWS Solutions Architect certification).Ability to automate tasks using Shell, Python, or other scripting languages.Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and document technical processes.Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.Additional Preferred Qualifications :
