Reporting to the Manager of System Engineering , the Senior Systems Specialist will be a go-to person in the department. You will respond to a wide variety of issues, collaborate with teams across the company, and contribute to impactful technical solutions.
As a Senior Systems Specialist (Windows), You Will :
- Manage and maintain server environments based on Microsoft technologies.
- Troubleshoot hardware / software issues by running diagnostics, documenting problems, and resolving escalated incidents.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new infrastructure deployments or upgrades.
- Perform regular backup operations, implement patches, and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
- Review capacity planning, storage management, and database performance.
- Optimize server infrastructure and plan for growth through capacity forecasting and expansion.
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions based on business requirements.
- Participate in information security monitoring, incident response, and investigations.
- Create repeatable SOPs for deployed systems and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation and occasional travel as needed.
As a Senior Systems Specialist (Windows), You Have :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).5+ years of experience managing complex and large IT environments.Expertise in Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, IIS, MS SQL).Strong experience with MS SQL database management , clusters, performance optimization, and version upgrades.Working knowledge of VMware and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).Knowledge of IT operations best practices including security, backup, storage , and disaster recovery .Scripting and automation experience is a plus.Familiarity with identity providers such as Okta or Duo .Experience with Google Workspace (G Suite) is an asset.Linux administration knowledge is a bonus.Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.Critical thinking and time management skills in fast-paced environments.A passion for system design and performance optimization.Skills Required
