About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst (BA) with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows and systems — especially in the context of Risk Adjustment, Digital & Manual Retrieval, HEDIS, and Health Assessments. This role bridges the gap between Product, Engineering, Clinical SMEs, and Operations by translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable specifications. You will play a key role in shaping system behavior, ensuring delivery quality, and aligning solutions to end-user workflows.
Key Responsibilities :
Requirements & Analysis
- Gather, validate, and document business and technical requirements from cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with Product Owners to break down Epics / Features into detailed User Stories
- Write comprehensive BRDs / FRDs, workflows, and use cases
- Own and maintain mapping documents, data dictionaries, and interface specs
Technical Understanding
Understand backend processes like data ingestion, OCR, NLP / NLU transformation, and routing logicLead impact assessments when changes are made to upstream or downstream systemsTesting & Validation
Define acceptance criteria, edge cases, and negative test scenariosAssist QA teams in test planning and validating feature behaviorParticipate in UAT with end users and triage feedback in collaboration with Product OwnersStakeholder Collaboration
Facilitate grooming and technical walkthroughs with Engineering, QA, and DevOpsAct as a bridge between business & tech teams, ensuring alignment throughout deliverySupport implementation planning, documentation handoff, and post-release supportSuccess Metrics :
Accuracy & clarity of requirements (rework / clarification rate% of test cases directly mapped to acceptance criteriaStory delivery velocity (based on estimation accuracy and backlog readiness)Stakeholder satisfaction (Ops, Product, QA, Eng)Requirement coverage of edge cases, exceptions, and regulatory complianceRequired Qualifications :
4–8 years of experience as a BA, preferably in healthcare IT, clinical data, or payer-side productsStrong understanding of CMS Risk Adjustment, HCC coding, Retrieval processes, or HEDIS abstraction workflowsProficient in tools like Azure DevOps / Jira, Lucidchart / Visio, SQL (basic queries), ConfluenceComfortable working in Agile / Scrum environment (certification must)Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder alignment skillsBonus Skills :
Experience in NLP / NLU model workflows and AI output validationFamiliarity with healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA)Exposure to chart review, CCD / CCDA parsing, or provider-facing workflowsCertification : CBAP / PMI-PBA / SAFE BA / Agile BA / HL7 FHIR FoundationAbility to read / analyze clinical data , ICD-10, HL7 / FHIR, or related data standardsIdeal Mindset :
