The candidate will be part of the Corporate Strategy & Planning team and shall manage strategic projects focused on business growth, risk management, and operational improvements. This role will involve supporting partnerships, helping to identify growth opportunities, and ensuring smooth project delivery.
Role & responsibilities
- Support / lead / program-manage Strategic projects including but not restricted to existing business growth, new business incubation, inorganic growth, new business build and partnerships (synergies with SMBC Corporate customers), risk management (credit policy, operational, fraud), risk analytics, collections and recoveries excellence, operational excellence.
- Program management of strategic projects.
- Support execution and delivery of strategic projects e.g. incubation of new business, new partnerships (synergies with SMBC Corporate customers), risk management, recoveries excellence, etc.
- Support in developing presentations.
- Macro / industry / competition intelligence to identify opportunities for SMICC business growth / value creation. May include both primary and secondary market research and data analysis.
- Above responsibilities may include cross-functional interaction with Sales, Product, Risk Policy, Underwriting, Collections / Recoveries, Tech teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills : hypothesis based problem-solving, strong analytical skills, thinking-on[1]the-feet, resourcefulness.
- Business judgment and practicality; data analysis (excel skills)
- Communication skills : Strong written and verbal communication, articulate, concise, senior and confident presence.
- Able to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
- Domain knowledge of lending value-chain is a strong plus (experience in lending industry) across functions like Strategy, Product, Finance, Risk (Policy, Governance, Collections / Recoveries), Analytics, etc.
