About the Role We are looking for a skilled BIW Engineer to join our core vehicle development team. You will be responsible for designing and integrating BIW structures, doors, panels, and composite-ready components for our upcoming electric microcar prototypes and production vehicles. This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to solve real-world design challenges in a fast-paced EV startup environment.

Responsibilities
Design and integrate BIW parts, structural members, and mounting interfaces
Develop functional automotive door assemblies with proper kinematics, sealing, and panel alignment
Engineer surface transitions, split lines, panel gaps, and BIW mating conditions
Define DFMA-driven BIW engineering surfaces suitable for microfactory manufacturing
Incorporate crash safety considerations and industry-grade BIW reliability standards
Collaborate closely with composites and manufacturing teams to integrate thermoplastic composite structures
Solve real-world design challenges involving doors, panels, brackets, and structural joints
Deliver lightweight, manufacturable, and robust BIW solutions for prototypes and production vehicles
Technical Skills Required
Strong BIW design fundamentals
Surface design & engineering
Plastic and sheet-metal part design
Door assembly design & dynamic motion understanding
BIW integration, mounting, and structural mating
DFMA principles
Basics of composite materials (thermoplastics / composites)
Qualifications
Minimum
2 years of experience
in BIW design and integration
B.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering fields (IIT / NIT / VIT preferred but not mandatory)
Experience in EV startups or Formula Student is a strong plus
Ability to design functional door systems from scratch
Proficient with CAD tools and engineering surfaces
