Roles and Responsibilities
As part of the R&D team, the candidate should be able to perform following (but not limited to) duties to support the team’s goals :
Own the complete
multilayer PCB design cycle
from concept to production release
Import mechanical outlines (DXF / EMN / EMP), define constraints, and perform precise
component placement
as per schematic and layout guidelines
Execute
PCB routing , focusing on signal integrity, EMI / EMC, and manufacturability
Generate and validate
Gerber outputs,
ensuring conformance with
BTL’s in-house manufacturing guidelines
Create and maintain CAD libraries (symbols and footprints) aligned with
IPC standards
and BTL guidelines.
Collaborate with hardware engineers for layout reviews and constraint management
Work closely with the MCAD team to ensure mechanical compatibility and integration
Ensure adherence to
DFM / DFT / DFA
guidelines and BOM optimization
Handle
project deliverables independently , managing timelines and quality checkpoints
Support
documentation, version control , and release workflows using BTL’s internal systems
Contribute to
process improvements , share layout best practices, and help evolve internal checklists and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL qualification and experience
QUALIFICATION :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
6 to 8 Years of hands-on experience in PCB layout for embedded hardware systems
Technical competency :
Tool
Proficiency : Expert in
Altium Designer
(schematics, library management, PCB layout, Gerber generation)
Design
Expertise :
Multilayer rigid and rigid-flex PCB designs
High-speed routing, impedance control, grounding techniques
Mixed-signal layout including differential pairs (LVDS, RS485, USB, Ethernet)
Design for
EMI / EMC , thermal management, and mechanical fit
Manufacturing
Knowledge :
Strong understanding of
DFM / DFA
principles
Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and assembly standards
Experience coordinating with
FAB and assembly house
for reviews and engineering queries
DFT
and
Variants :
Design for testability using
ICT / FPT
BOM management and
variant generation
in Altium
