What Work You Will be Responsible For :
The Assurance Deputy Manager plays a key role in supporting the execution of assurance engagements across diverse industry sectors. This position assists Managers and Partners in applying professional standards and internal policies, supervises engagement teams, and ensures the timely and accurate completion of client deliverables. The Deputy Manager also contributes to team development, technical training, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Assurance Services practice.
Major Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Managers, Partners, and client personnel to plan and execute assurance engagements across various industry groups, in line with our Client Service Standards.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, assurance procedures, and review of work papers and financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of client deliverables, including financial statements, disclosures, and issue memos, ensuring adherence to firm policies and professional standards.
- Supervise and mentor assurance staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support for professional development.
- Communicate key accounting and assurance-related matters to engagement teams and clients, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Monitor engagement budgets and timelines, identifying opportunities for process and performance improvements.
- Support department-wide technical training initiatives and knowledge sharing.
- Actively participate in team development efforts, including recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and retention strategies.
- Serve as a mentor or career advocate (if assigned), fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- All other duties as assigned.
Preferred
CA / CPA designation (required).With 4-6 years of relevant experience in US assurance or audit.Real Estate and / or Employee Benefit Experience Preferred but not required.Excellent supervisory, analytical and leadership ability.Have the ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research abilities.Superior knowledge of general accounting and assurance services including skills knowledge plus the application of general theory.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required). Proficiency in ProSystems, Engagment fx, or alternatively another paperless audit environment such as Creative Solutions or CaseWare preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strict adherence to professional ethics.Ability to successfully contribute to the success of a strategic business unit of the firm.(ref : iimjobs.com)
