Key Responsibilities :
1. Patient Financial Guidance
- Meet patients and attendants during admission or treatment planning to explain estimated costs.
- Provide a detailed breakdown of packages, procedure costs, and expected out-of-pocket expenses.
- Guide patients on payment schedules and required advance deposits.
2. Insurance & TPA Coordination
Verify insurance coverage, policy terms, and patient eligibility.Facilitate pre-authorizations, approvals, and coordination with TPA or insurance providers.Keep patients informed about approvals, exclusions, and any shortfalls.3. Billing Support
Collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate patient billing.Help clarify any billing queries raised by patients.Ensure timely collection of payments before discharge or procedure.4. Financial Assistance Programs
Inform eligible patients about hospital-run or external financial assistance schemes.Assist with the application process for payment plans, charity programs, or subsidies.Coordinate with internal committees or external sponsors when needed.5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed records of financial counselling sessions.Document consent from patients on estimates and cost-related discussions.Provide regular MIS and status reports to the finance or patient services team.Qualifications & Experience :
Education :Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, or Healthcare ManagementMBA (Finance / Hospital Management) preferredExperience :1–3 years in healthcare finance, TPA coordination, or hospital billingExperience with health insurance processes is highly desirableSkills & Competencies :
Strong understanding of hospital billing and insurance processesExcellent communication and counselling skillsEmpathy and patience in dealing with patients under stressAttention to detail and strong follow-up abilitiesProficient in MS Office and hospital information systems (HIS / EMR)Knowledge of local healthcare regulations and TPA practicesSkills Required
