Brief introduction - Role Summary / Purpose :

Colgate-Palmolive is looking for a Solution Architect to join its growing Global Analytics organization. As a Solution Architect you need to understand the business we support and will be responsible to provide direction to a team of engineers to ensure data needs to meet business demands in various functions.

This position will establish Solution Architecture principles, build models of data that enable the implementation of the business architecture, generate diagrams displaying keydata entities, and produce an inventory of the data needed to realize the architecture vision.

Our teams work on the latest data technologies in the Cloud space including Snowflake, BigQuery, DBT, Apache Airflow, Apache Iceberg, Spark and more. This position will be focused on building out and leading the vision for our external and internal data in our modern cloud data platform.

The candidate should be comfortable in playing a lead role towards the evolution of technology deployments across the global footprint.

Responsibilities :

Architecting Solutions

Translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions in key data areas for syndicated, point of sale and indirect trade data

Define, design, and help architect solution and coordinating and communicating with GIT Teams for implementation

Define, design, and build data models for use by the business

Evaluate reusability of current data for additional analyses

Review object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access

Define how the data is stored, consumed, coordinated and led by different data entities and IT systems.

Engage with the data management team in best practices for data sourcing, key data elements, data quality management and metadata.

Engage with the data warehousing team in the migration to cloud warehousing

Provide data initiatives, evaluations, and mentorship with projects in accordance to our corporate guidelines.

Build expertise in diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.

Required  Qualifications :

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

3+ years professional experience as a data analyst, Solution Architect, data engineer, or related role developing conceptual, logical, and preliminary physical models for an enterprise

Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, SQL or Cloud technologies

Experience working with cloud environments (e.g.- GCP, AWS).

Experience working with cloud data warehousing (e.g.- Snowflake, BigQuery)

Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Willingness to gain training / certification in designated technologies

Preferred Qualifications :

Database architecture and data warehousing experience

Data management experience

Project management

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g.- Docker, Kubernetes).
