Position overview
As a Design Manager – Machine Design, you will manage a team of design engineers responsible for developing innovative machine designs, ensuring technical excellence, timely delivery, and alignment with customer requirements. You will serve as a key interface between our clients and the internal design team, providing both technical leadership and project management oversight.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design and development of special purpose machines (SPM), automation equipment, and industrial machinery.
- Manage the complete design lifecycle — concept, feasibility, design validation, detailing, and manufacturing support.
- Provide technical direction to design engineers using CAD tools : Solid Edge
- Collaborate with customers to understand design requirements, functional specifications, and project deliverables.
- Oversee design reviews, DFM / DFA studies, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety norms.
- Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and electrical / automation teams for seamless project execution.
- Evaluate and approve bought-out components, materials, and suppliers for project requirements.
- Drive innovation, standardization, and design optimization across multiple projects.
- Mentor and develop design engineers to build technical competency and team capability.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in machine design, product development, or SPM design.Strong command over Solid Edge.Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, automation, and manufacturing processes.Proven experience in leading design teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.Skills Required
