Job Summary
Atlas Transformers India Limited is seeking a highly detailed and experienced Manager Electrical Design to join our engineering team. This critical role is focused on the design, development, and optimization of power and distribution transformer products. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep technical expertise to ensure all designs meet rigorous customer specifications, international industry standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI), and our high internal quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design and development of power and distribution transformers (oil-immersed and dry-type) including developing electrical schematics and winding configurations.
- Perform comprehensive electrical calculations covering short-circuit strength, temperature rise, impedance, loss evaluation (no-load and load losses), and detailed dielectric design.
- Specify and select critical components such as core materials, conductor sizes, insulation systems, and tap changers (OLTC / RLTC).
- Prepare and finalize all essential design documentation, including General Arrangement (GA) drawings, detailed wiring diagrams, and accurate Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Mechanical Design, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to ensure product feasibility, manufacturability, and optimal performance.
- Provide technical expertise for proposal engineering (pre-bid support) by conducting thorough technical reviews of complex customer specifications.
- Ensure strict compliance with relevant national and international standards (e.g., IEC 60076, ANSI C57, IS standards).
- Participate in the testing and validation of transformer prototypes and actively resolve any design-related issues encountered during manufacturing or testing.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization efforts within current and future transformer designs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest technological advancements and material innovations in the transformer industry.
Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
