Senior Planning Manager

Role Description :

We are looking for a Senior Manager – Planning & Scheduling to oversee and optimize project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining project timelines, monitoring progress, identifying risks or delays, and ensuring on-time delivery within budget and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in project management tools, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive execution efficiency and meet organizational objectives.

Key Responsibility Areas :

Schedule Development

Develop and validate multi-level project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.

Ensure logical sequencing of activities in line with project objectives.

Review and approve schedule updates from site / execution teams.

Resource Planning

Allocate manpower, material, and equipment effectively to meet project needs.

Prepare and approve project organization charts.

Optimize resource deployment while ensuring cost control.

Critical Path & Delay Analysis

Conduct Critical Path Analysis (CPA) to identify and mitigate high-risk activities.

Review and enhance mitigation plans submitted by execution teams.

Monitoring & Reporting

Supervise and validate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Track progress using S-curves and dashboard metrics.

Identify deviations from the baseline and recommend corrective actions.

Risk Management & Contingency Planning

Assess schedule-related risks and recommend mitigation measures.

Ensure implementation and documentation of contingency plans.

Review Meetings

Lead internal planning review meetings and represent the planning function in client review meetings.

Conduct subcontractor meetings to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables.

Process Adherence & Improvement

Ensure compliance with established planning processes and company standards.

Recommend process improvements and ensure accuracy of data inputs.

Team Building & Development

Support in defining KRAs / KPIs for junior planners.

Onboard and mentor new joiners, fostering a culture of learning and performance excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).

Postgraduate qualification in Project Management / Planning (preferred).

Certification in Primavera P6 or Project Management (PMP) is an added advantage.

Experience :

12–15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling.

Strong exposure to MEP / EPC project environments.

Proven expertise in developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Experience in resource planning, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.

Technical Proficiency :

Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project for schedule development, monitoring, and control.

Analytical & Coordination Skills :

Ability to analyze complex schedules, conduct critical path analysis, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment.

Leadership :

Proven track record of leading planning teams, managing project schedules, and driving timely project execution.

Industry Knowledge :

Solid understanding of MEP and EPC project environments, including typical challenges and best practices.
