Description GSPANN is hiring a Configuration Manager to manage and govern the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ensure data accuracy. The role includes integrating CMDB with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and developing compliance dashboards
Role and Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) data model, including Configuration Item (CI) classes, attributes, and relationships.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness of CMDB data by applying governance and validation practices.
- Govern the lifecycle of CIs in compliance with established change management processes.
- Integrate the CMDB with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Release.
- Conduct audits, reconciliations, and validations against discovery tools and asset records to maintain data quality.
- Oversee ingestion of CI data from automated discovery tools and third-party integrations.
- Define and enforce standardized CI attributes and naming conventions across the CMDB.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor CMDB health and compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to IT and business stakeholders on CMDB processes and best practices.
- Serve as the custodian of CMDB governance, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
Skills and Experience
5+ years in IT Service Management (ITSM), with at least 3 years in Configuration Management.Strong understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks, version 3 or 4 preferred.Proven expertise in CMDB administration, CI modeling, and configuration / asset management.Hands-on experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Ivanti, BMC Remedy, or equivalent platforms.Knowledge of automated discovery tools, integration methods, and reconciliation practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across IT and business functions.Experience in developing governance policies, compliance frameworks, and operational procedures.ITIL Foundation certification preferred.Exposure to enterprise IT environments, including servers, networks, applications, and cloud platforms.
