Role Overview :
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative YouTube expert to join our partner university. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader and a hands-on executor, with a proven track record of growing a YouTube channel. The role requires a deep understanding of YouTube algorithms and analytics, along with a strong passion for digital storytelling and the ability to lead the entire video production lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
1. YouTube Growth & Execution
- Develop, execute, and scale the university's YouTube-first content strategy with clear growth targets.
- Work directly with videographers, editors, and social media staff to script, shoot, and edit content.
- Create a variety of video formats : student vlogs, faculty features, explainer videos, industry expert talks, event highlights, and short-form reels.
- Optimize videos for SEO, engagement, and retention (titles, thumbnails, descriptions, playlists).
- Drive measurable growth in subscribers, watch time, engagement, and lead conversions.
2. Content Leadership & Team Management
Build and lead an on-campus content team (creators, editors, student contributors).Mentor student creators and integrate them into the content pipeline.Repurpose long-form YouTube videos into short-form, multi-platform content for Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.Collaborate with admissions, academics, and events teams to capture high-impact stories.3. Digital Story-telling and Branding :
Highlight authentic stories of students, alumni, faculty, and campus life.Position the university as a thought leader in higher education through creative digital storytelling.Ensure consistency in brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all content.4. Performance Tracking and Reporting
Define and track KPIs (subscribers, engagement rates, conversions).Use YouTube Analytics and other tools to refine strategy and execution.Provide monthly reports and insights to leadership with action-oriented recommendations.Required Skills and Experience :
Proven track record of growing a YouTube channel (brand, creator, or institution) with demonstrable results.Hands-on expertise in video production : scripting, shooting, editing (directly or by leading a team).Strong knowledge of YouTube algorithms, SEO, and analytics.5+ years of experience in content marketing, social media, or digital storytelling.Excellent storytelling and editorial judgment skills.Experience leading teams while also being deeply involved in execution.Must be willing to work full-time on campus to capture content in real time.Passion for youth culture, education, and digital-first storytelling
