We are looking for a Training Manager to oversee and continuously improve training and competency programs for marine crew across disciplines. If you are detail-oriented, compliance-driven, and passionate about workforce capability development in the marine and offshore sector, this is your opportunity to lead with purpose.
What You Will Do
- Identify, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs for deck officers, engineers, and ratings in line with client matrices and charterer requirements.
- Ensure all training programs comply with IMO, SOLAS, STCW, ISM Code, TMSA, SIRE, and company policies.
- Collaborate with training institutes and subject matter experts to design and deliver simulation exercises and technical workshops.
- Plan and coordinate on-leave crew training schedules efficiently, including travel and accommodation arrangements.
- Monitor regulatory updates and revise training frameworks to maintain full compliance with international and flag-state standards.
- Evaluate training program effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance tracking.
- Utilize e-learning platforms, simulators, and modern technologies to enhance training delivery.
- Maintain complete training and certification records in crewing software and generate monthly and quarterly reports for management.
- Manage the training budget effectively and liaise with vendors for cost-efficient delivery of courses and services.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Maritime Studies, or a related field.Relevant maritime training certifications (e.g., STCW, IMO courses) are preferred.5+ years in maritime training or competency management with shipowners, ship managers, or maritime institutes.2–3 years in a managerial capacity overseeing training operations.Hands-on experience in marine operations, safety management, and compliance.Sailing experience is an added advantage.Strong knowledge of maritime laws and international regulations (IMO, SOLAS, ISM, STCW).Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage multiple training programs, budgets, and external training providers efficiently.Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.What You Can Expect
