Role : Project Assistant (Climate Fellowship)
Location : Pune, with field assignments
WOTR invites applications for Project Assistants under the W-CReS Climate Fellowship Programme beginning November 2025. The 8-month fellowship offers young graduates and postgraduates in Environmental Science, Climate and Sustainability Studies, Agriculture, and Social Sciences a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in climate resilience, rural livelihoods, and field-based research.
Key Responsibilities :
- Undertake field visits / conduct interviews to collect qualitative and quantitative data from farmers and local stakeholders
- Collect, collate, and analyse primary and secondary data on local weather / climate and agriculture using data collection tools created by W-CReS.
- Documenting findings, Report writing, Writing blogs, etc.
- Collaborate with the field team and attend regular review meetings / trainings / Farmer Field Schools, etc.
Eligibility :
Freshers with a Graduate / Postgraduate degree in environmental science, agriculture, climate and sustainability studies, social sciences, and related disciplines.Freshers from other disciplines with a strong interest in climate change / sustainability / rural development / agriculture are also encouraged to apply.Candidates with a minimum of one year of experience are eligible to apply.Candidate should have a basic understanding of data collection tools and proficiency in MS Excel. Knowledge of R and Python will be considered an added advantage.Good verbal and writing skills in English and Hindi are essential. Additional knowledge of other regional languages, such as Marathi / Telugu / Odia / Kannada, will be preferred.Candidates willing to travel to field locations and work in rural settings (as required) will be given preference.Positions : Total 8 (Climate Science - 2, Agriculture - 3, Social Science - 3)
