JOB PURPOSE :
To drive Plant HR & IR plans & strategies and HR Policies & Initiatives including Employee Engagement, Productivity and High Performance while maintaining Harmonious Industrial Relations and Legal Compliance, to enable achievement of Business Plans of the Plant.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Plant HR & IR Strategy -
- Interface with Plant Department Heads and Plant Head to understand the Business Plans and Strategy to cascade and align the current and future directions for the HR & IR
- Develop and drive plans to cater to growth and capability development of individuals and the workforce
- Develop plans for Talent Reviews, Development and Succession Planning to meet current and future talent requirements in collaboration with TM & L&D Teams
- Confer and collaborate with CHRO and Plant Head to develop and review the Strategies and Plans for developing and maintaining the desired culture and value systems and to maintain focus on Increasing Productivity and building High Employee Engagement
- Develop IR Strategy conferring with Plant Head and CHRO
- Provide inputs and recommendations to Central HR and to Plant Head on matters of strategic importance
Recruitment & Selection -
Interface with Plant Head, CHRO and TA Head to conclude Talent acquisition plan in line with Industrial Engineering study and the approved Organization StructureObtain validation of Manpower requisition (existing and new) as per organization structure for the plant, at review with Plant HeadEngage with TA, TM vertical Heads to discuss & conclude on skill sets, sourcing (IJP / external posting, internal movements) for vacancy or anticipated vacancy managementEnsure and facilitate selection, negotiation and offer maintaining effective co-ordination with TA central teamEnsure workmen hiring as per CLRA Act and trainee as per Apprenticeship Act adhering to manpower ceiling of the plantOnboarding -
Facilitate a good joining experience by ensuring a smooth deployment of the on-boarding processEnsure and supervise the handholding of new joiners post joining activitiesMonitor performance of new hires by taking formal and informal feedback mechanismsPerformance Management -
Continuously be aware of performance of the plant and various functions and the HR drivers that have a correlative and causative impactFocus on these key drivers to ensure high performance and manpower productivityDrive Performance Management system in collaboration with the TM VerticalConduct / Participate in Performance reviews for managerial cadre, Staff and Workmen as per policy normsMonitor regularly key events of performance and non-performance providing inputs / feedback to Plant HR Head, CHRO and TM Head for suitable HR actionsCounsel employees and ensure counseling by reporting officers and superiorsIdentify gaps in skills / competencies and Training & Development NeedsLearning & Growth and Capability Development -
Design and Develop Training Policy and System in alignment with organization requirements with specific relevance to PlantInterface with key stakeholders to understand the Plant level Business Strategy and the ensuing imperatives for Learning and Competency Skill development for current and future business needsIdentify the employee value proposition issues affecting company turnoverCollaborate with Talent Management and L&D and OD verticals to list training needs for training, Devise Training CalendarCollaborate with L&D team and ensure deployment and execution of Individual development Plans and Leadership Development PlansDrive implementation of T&D and OD initiativesEnsure up-skilling of workers by skill mapping, TNI, training and assessment of effectiveness of trainingIdentify and ensure actions for improvementEmployee Engagement & Wellness -
Planning, organizing and managing Employee Engagement initiatives including TGIF activities and functionsProvide Counseling to employeesDigital Initiatives -

To monitor and ensure that plant comply with all HR, IR, & Labour laws related legal and regulatory compliances.To represent the management on all statutory matters relating to Labour laws before the concerned authorities as and when requiredEnsuring Renewal of Licenses pertaining to plantHealth, Safety & Environment -
Ensure implementation & monitoring of all safety measuresAdherence to all the environmental regulationsPlant Security for Protection of Company’s Assets -
Oversee and review Security arrangements & practices; ensure no thefts or encroachment casesLiaison -
Liaise with local authorities and administration officials including police and local interest groups for maintaining cordial relationsBudgeting, MIS, Reporting & Cost Effectiveness -
Prepare and obtain approval for BudgetAllocate budget & communicate budget to teamMonitor and control budget; obtain sanctions for any extra budget items or exigenciesEnsure cost effectiveness of all efforts using judicious mix of discretion, negotiation, outsourced and in house facilities and faculty and continuous cost tracking & reviewTeam development & management -
